currently available CPI-W of 210.698 (US city average; all items) reported April 2008.
The above figure was calculated based on the Texas
Medical Liability and Insurance Improvement Act (Section
11.02 of Article 4590i) which places a cap on medical malpractice
damages adjusted yearly in relation to the current Consumer
Price Index (CPI) for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers
(CPI-W). (See Section 11.01).
